| Wedge Lock Scaffold / Grid Decking System : Consists of vertical with wedge housings/captive
collars welded to them at 1000/500 mm centers in four directions at right angles.
Transoms/ledgers and diagonals having end fittings with locking wedges fit in the wedge
housings and lock them except in Grip Lock System in which twisting of Collar nut locks
them. Verticals are erected on Adjustable Base Plates to cope with variation in ground
level. These systems allow changing levels of transom/ledger very easily and quickly
without disturbing main scaffold. Other types of scaffolds do not offer this advantage.
These scaffoldings are used for Grid
Decking System designed for flat slabs, beams & slabs, waffle and though floor
construction. Drop heads with their seatings in raised position are erected on adjustable
jacks or scaffold verticals. Deck Beams are securely placed on the drop head seatings.
Floorforms or plywood over infill beams at required spacing are placed between Deck Beams
and jacks adjusted to get required level. Deck Beams drop trough 80mm height after
striking drop heads allowing removal of formwork and leaving support to slab undisturbed.
Striking can be done within three days of concreting or as per recommendations of the
Engineer.
